Completion of the construction of caravans (latrines) in Ma’rat Misrin camps

Basma Organization has built 16 caravan (latrine) in the camps of displaced and affected people in Ma’art Misrin/northwest Syria. The construction of these caravans (latrines) was depending of the needs of the displaced in those camps for the sanitation, which provided safe and easy access to sanitation.

The caravan sites (latrine) were chosen to be close and easily accessible. Basma Organization has designated 9 caravans (latrine) for women, to ensure the privacy of women and to ensure their safe and easy access.

Each caravan consists of 4 normal cells and 1 cell designated for people with special needs.
The caravan was provided with a solar panel, batteries for lighting, a water tank, heat insulation, washbasins, and good sealed doors. In order to facilitate access for people with needs, the cell designated for them was provided with special handles, in addition to designing the entrance to the caravan in a way that helps them access it easily and safely.
