BRD announced to forming the fire prevention committees which include: 5 persons from camp management, 5 persons fire response community committees (teachers, Camp dignitaries..etc) and 3 Fire marshals from each camp to be the total number of persons to be as fire prevention committee 13 persons and the total as same for all camps 117 persons.

BRD received the names of those committees from the camp management, Camp dignitaries and IDPs as Fire marshals for all 9 camps.

These personalities were selected according to certain criteria, namely: to be one of the pivotal and active leaders in the local community (teachers, community leaders, mosque sheikhs…) in addition to their knowledge of the camps and their residents. Because they will have the responsibility to coordinate services and raise community awareness.

As well as camp management and IDPs as Fire marshals.

After the committees formed for 9 camps, BRD introduced to the activities and thier roles. They were informed and agreed that they would receive training on the fire response and mitigation mechanism. In addition to their role in awareness campaigns for the camp residents about fires.

The training material includes (causes of fires – how to use extinguishers – types of burns – first aid for burns…), in addition to

(10 camp managers/deputies), (5 managers/deputies from Basmat al-Amal camp and 5 managers/deputies from Khan al-Asal displaced camp) were trained for three days on the following dates (25-26-28 August/September) and pre and post tests were conducted for trainees, attendance documents in schedules and taking photos and videos.

In addition to 45 persons from NGOs in BRD’s work area that attended BRD’s training as well.
